The annual Taste of Frankfort event is quickly approaching! This year’s event is sure to be a tasty treat for our community. The 2018 Taste of Frankfort will be held on September 9th from 5pm-8pm at the Mellwood Arts and Entertainment Center. Over 20 restaurants will be participating this year and many of Frankfort Avenue’s shops will also be in attendance. Tickets per person are $45 and if you want the deluxe treatment with a space to lounge and premium cocktail tastings, the Sip and Swig VIP experience is for you! VIP Sip and Swag tickets are $100 per person. This year, a portion of the proceeds will go to support the Mellwood Arts and Entertainment Center and United Crescent Hill Ministries. The money raised from the event will go towards sustaining the numerous services we offer to the community.
At UCHM, we provide a variety of impactful community services that enable us to fulfill our mission to build better community and serve our neighbors. At UCHM, we provide emergency services, such as a rent and utility assistance, to help families in crisis avoid eviction. In partnership with Dare to Care, we also operate a food pantry that provides emergency food to over 150 families per month. Our United Learning Youth program provides after-school and summer education to students in grades K-8. In 2018 alone, the United Learning program served over 70 students in the Louisville Metro area. UCHM also provides social, health and recreational opportunities for seniors in order to support the overall well being of senior citizens in the Louisville area. The Senior Program establishes important social connections, encourages physical activity and good nutrition, and provides stimulation. UCHM’s Senior Program is funded, in part under a contract with the Louisville Metro Office of Resiliency and Community Services, and with funds from KIPDA, the Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the 21 UCHM member churches, and private donations.
Your purchase of a ticket to the Taste of Frankfort will help us continue to provide these community services to families in need. What better way to support the important work of UCHM than to enjoy delicious cuisine from some of Louisville’s best local restaurants. We hope to see you there. Make sure to bring your appetite!
