This week Regan Kincaid joined United Crescent Hill Ministries as the new Community Engagement Coordinator. In this role, Regan will complete a year of service in conjunction with AmeriCorps Vista program at UCHM. She recently graduated from the University of Kentucky with a major in International Studies and a minor in Indian Culture.
Regan’s life started in an orphanage in Nagpur, India where she was adopted by an American family in the military. Since the start of her new life, Regan has made it her life’s mission to give back to the community and to, eventually, go back to India to open an orphanage.
Her first day at UCHM was February 26, 2018 after a four-day orientation with AmeriCorps in Charlotte, NC. She reported that the experience was life changing and meaningful. Regan goes on to comment about her first day: “I look forward to meeting and working with everyone. My first day was warm and very welcoming and I already love it here. I really believe in what we do here, and I can’t wait to be part of the team. If you ever need anything or want to say ‘hi’, feel free to stop by!”
Ms.Kincaid will oversee volunteer recruitment services with UCHM in the Louisville Metro area. She believes the best way to get to know an organization is to get to know the people, listen to their concerns, and be an active part of the community.
