UCHM Senior Program are funded, in part under a contract with the Louisville Metro Office of Resiliency and Community Services, and with funds from KIPDA, the Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the 21 UCHM member churches, and private donations.
UCHM provides social, health and recreational opportunities for seniors in order to support the overall well being of senior citizens in the Louisville area. The Senior Program establishes important social connections, encourages physical activity and good nutrition, and provides stimulation:
Meals on Wheels: 5 frozen meals are delivered once a week by volunteers to homebound individuals.
Weekday Lunches: Hot meals are served at the UCHM senior center @ 11:15 am on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s. Registration and reservations required.
Recreation and Wellness: There are a variety of Senior-centric, life enhancing activities offered to individual’s age 60 +, activities include but not limited to: bingo, physical exercise, live music entertainment, educational speakers, and creative opportunities.
